MCL School of Information Technology brings you BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT qualification to Pakistan. In order to qualify as a Chartered IT Professional (engineered). In addition, MCL brings you numerous recognized qualifications, both recognized and awarded by British awarding bodies.

The BCS Course is designed for 3 years leading to graduate diploma in BCS Year 1 Certificate , Year 2 Diploma in IT , Year 3 Graduate Diploma.

BCS Certificate in IT

Year 1

This Certificate in IT is for students looking to build a solid foundation for a career in IT and computing. It is also comparable to the first year if a university degree.

Examination

You will have to sit three exams which are all two hours each.

Entry Criteria

Age: 19 + Entry profile:

  • A GCE Advanced level profile with achievement in 1 or more subjects supported by 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above
  • other related level 3 subjects
  • other equivalent international qualifications
  • membership of BCS

BCS Diploma in IT

Year 2

This Diploma in IT is for students who understand the fundamental principles in IT and who are ready to start developing specialist skills. It is comparable to the second year of a university degree.

BCS Professional Graduate Diploma in IT

Year 3 

The Professional Graduate Diploma in IT is for students who are dedicated to working in the IT industry and are looking to gain depth of knowledge and expertise

Entry Criteria

 

  • Age: 19 + Entry profile:
  • You need to have passed, or been made exempt from, the BCS Certifcate in IT and appropriate Diploma in IT modules.
  • You must be a BCS member to sit the exam.

 

Progression Route CITP/ CEng or MSc

In order to qualify for this award a person normally needs to have at least 8 to 10 years professional experience in IT, with evidence of experience at a senior level (5) in the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA), have passed a professional competency examination and successfully completed a skills assessment interview with two BCS assessors.

A fast track scheme exists for holders of Certified Architect and Certified IT Specialist certifications from The Open Group, which exempts applicants from the initial review and interview elements of the application process.

In order to maintain a certificate of current competence, demonstrable CPD must be undertaken.

You are now ready to become Chartered IT Professional (CITP) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)

  • You’re assessed against the criteria set out in the CITP standard
  • You need to be a member of a professional body licenced to award CITP:
    • BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT
