Property Lawyers Qualification CLC:

Optional Top Up LLM 

Licensed Conveyancers are qualified, professional property lawyers who specialise in the legal aspects surrounding buying and selling property in England and Wales. Licenced Conveyancers are also Commissioners for Oaths, which means they have legal authority to administer and witness official documents e.g. affidavits to swear that a statement is the truth. The Diplomas are regulated by SQA awarding body. This is a very flexible route to qualify as a property lawyer which enables you to enhance your career aspects by topping up with a law degree.

Year One

Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice

Regulated qualifications extend or broaden professional or vocational skills and are linked to the national apprenticeship standards.

This qualification covers generic areas such as the English legal system, law of contract, land law, understanding accounting procedures for conveyancing transactions and standard conveyancing transactions.

This qualification can be delivered in England and Wales through colleges, training providers and some employers. It has been designed to be delivered as a combination of face to face delivery and/or self-directed study, or as an online course.

Entry Requirement

Entry is at the discretion of an MCL admission tutor.

Learners do not need to have formal relevant qualifications to enter this qualification. Good communication skills, both oral and written, are required. Current experience of working within a legal practice setting would be advantageous but is not mandatory. International students must have good English skills and minimum metric GCSE’s.

Year Two

Level 6 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice

Regulated qualifications extend or broaden professional or vocational skills and are linked to the national apprenticeship standards. The Level 6 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice covers all the high-level, specialised skills associated with the legalities of buying and selling property in England and Wales.

This qualification covers areas such as landlord and tenant law, conveyancing law and practice, and managing client and office accounts.

This qualification can be delivered in England and Wales through colleges, training providers and some employers. It has been designed to be delivered as a combination of face to face delivery and/or self-directed study, or as an online course.

Progression Routes

The completion of the Level 4 and 6 diploma is comparable to the first and second year of a law degree. Furthermore it satisfies the academic stage of the training of the council for license conveyancers. In order to qualify as a property lawyer, there must have been two years’ practical experience in a property practice. Leaners can also progress through a Top-up with a law degree.

LEVEL 7 DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW

Durational Fast Track – Six Months
This is a vocational type of qualification at a higher education level, fully validated by OFQUL and accredited by QUALIFI – regulatory bodies in the UK . (Offered through our Associate Partners)

This qualification has been developed for learners to develop legal skills and knowledge in international business law. It provides students with an understanding of law in the context of business to equip them with abilities needed to work with advance issues.

LL.M LEGAL PRACTICE TOP-UP

Dissertation

If you have completed the Legal Practice Course, the Bar professional training course, or you have been admitted as an advocate in your jurisdiction, approved by the Solicitors Regulations Authority for registered foreign lawyers (RFL) status, you may be eligible to apply for the LL.M legal practice top up.

This programme gives you a professional legal practice degree needed to become an advocate of the High Court of Pakistan, at the same time as achieving a Masters qualification recognised internationally.

Studying the LL.M in legal practice gives you the opportunity to investigate areas of particular interest in detail when you produce your dissertation.

You will be supported by experienced lawyers and tutors with face to face lectures/seminars and 24/7 access to materials online.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be admitted as advocates of the High Court of Pakistan (and/or) their home jurisdiction with experience and good standing in the field they wish to research and produce a dissertation. Applicants must be committed to delivering outstanding research which makes a differences in society.

English IELTS level 6 is required (unless the applicant’s degree was taught in English)

FEES

Students will have to pay the registration fees of the UK University and the tuition fees of MCL. These are available upon request.
