A Level Law

    The English Legal System
    This unit provides an overview of the English Legal System to prepare learners for more substantive study in areas of English Law.
    Legal Terminology and Communication
    This unit develops learners’ skills and how to present information in a legal context.
    Contract Law
    This unit will introduce learners to the principles and key elements of contract law.
    Academic and Research Skills for Law
    This unit develops academic research skills and the language skills needed to be able to formally present academic research in a legal context.

Foundation

ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Law –  Access to Higher Education

The ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Law is a 60-credit Ofqual regulated qualification and is the equivalent level to an A Level or Access to HE qualification. It has been designed for learners who wish to progress to a law degree but may not have the traditional entry qualifications usually required. The qualification provides learners with an introduction to law and the legal system as well as key academic, research and communication skills to support learners in their development.

Units

Learners must complete all 4 mandatory units.

The English Legal System
This unit provides an overview of the English Legal System to prepare learners for more substantive study in areas of English Law.
Legal Terminology and Communication
This unit develops learners’ skills and how to present information in a legal context.
Contract Law
This unit will introduce learners to the principles and key elements of contract law.
Academic and Research Skills for Law
This unit develops academic research skills and the language skills needed to be able to formally present academic research in a legal context.

Progression Routes

Learners who complete this qualification can progress to study a variety of bachelor’s degrees at a university such as one of our partner universities

Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies With Foundation Diploma in Law Level 3

Course Overview

MCL offers a flexible access to Higher Educational Programmes , a Joint Foundational Diploma in Higher Studies and in Law at Level 3.  This Joint Diploma is equivalent to 2 A Levels at RQF which represents practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competencies which are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent  to GCSE A Levels

The objective of the  Level 3 Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies is to provide learners with a foundation to provide an entry route to UK and international university courses. It is designed to ensure that each learner is equipped with knowledge of study skills, mathematics, computing, society and culture, business and accounting, providing the knowledge and skills to adapt rapidly to change and progress with their learning.

The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, and  online

UNITS

Foundation Diploma in Higher Education Studies consists of six mandatory units

For a combined total of 120 Credits

Assessment and Verification

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the MCL and externally verified by Awarding Body   At the end of each Semester there will be a test/examination on each of the units/modules   The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.

The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.

Successful completion of the Level 3 Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies provides learners with the opportunity to progress to further study or employment.Successful completion of  Level 3 Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies together with the Foundation Diploma in Law at Level 3  provides learners the opportunity for academic progressions to a wide range of undergraduate LL.B or BSc in Accounting and Finance programmes including  the extended Diploma in Law ( Level 4)  

Entry Requirements

Entry requirement for the Diploma , the Learners should have sufficient capability in the English Language to undertake the learning and assessment criterian.  Learners will be required to have completed one of the following qualifications5 GCSE O LevelsLevel 2 DiplomaMetric or any equivalent International Qualification.

Foundation Diploma in Accountancy with Foundation Diploma in Law Level 3

Course Overview

The MCL offers a flexible Joint Foundation Diploma in Accountancy and Law access to Higher Education   The objective of the  Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Accountancy is to provide learners with a foundation for a career in a range of organisations in relation to financial management and accountancy. It is designed to ensure that each learner is equipped with knowledge of accountancy, and the skills to adapt rapidly to change and progress with their learning.

Equivalences – Joint Foundation Diploma in Accountancy and the Foundation Diploma in Law is a qualification at RQF Level 3 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to  2 GCE AS/A Levels.

UNITS

The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Accountancy consists of 3 mandatory units for a combined total of 60 credits, 600 hours

ASSESSMENT AND EXAMINATION

All units in this qualification are internally assessed by MCL and externally verified by the Awarding Body.   Learners will also take test/examination at the end of the Semester set internally by MCL
